I got a call recently to head up to Oakland and photograph the 'The Godfather of Cannabis' aka Steve DeAngelo, for Forbes Magazine. Steve is widely regarded as the leading voice in rights activism for cannabis reform and, I have to say, it was a very appropriately chill afternoon hanging with Steve at his leafy perch high above the Bay. It was one of those dream creative briefs where all the referefences basically consisted of my own work and the ask was pretty much "We'd just love you to do that tight black and white portrait thing you do!"
